On the gov.uk website though under “ what a BRP is...?” It states that if you applied for visa to settle in the UK, or to stay in the uk longer than 6 months, etc. and your application was approved...

i had my ilr stamp and stayed out of the uk over two years so i applied and got my returning resident visa reinstated so therefore if im a returning resident i dont think i need to do another...

the stamp just had the immigration officers #, the date I entered the UK -and the airport- nothing else

I never received any letter or info on a biometric card from the home office so do I even need one? ...
