Re: Living standards

In theory Australians can vote for a change and the resources can then be used differently. The UK has less resources, more political dogma and a much higher population density. So maybe you made the...

Re: Living standards

Hmm, I think you are broadly correct regarding %. I find the UK figure nonsensical in comparison unless it has been heavily skewed by recent public sector pay awards.
Something may happen to correct...

Re: Renewal of AU PASSPORT from the UK

AFAIK you require an Australian visa with a UK passport or you will not get on the plane. If you are an Australian citizen you cannot get a visa.

Re: Hello, 20 years in Aus!

Sounds marvellous. You should definitely look into a flight experience in a 3 axis microlight like an Ikarus C42, they are very common these days - Goodwood/Shoreham - much cheaper flying than a...

Re: Is moving to Australia realistic for me?

If you have little in the way of responsibilities - house, kids etc. then it makes things a lot easier and cheaper. You can always return if you don't like it.

Re: "Oh, what a lovely war" (moved from ANZAC Day Thread)

I saw the movie, I was 9. It made no sense to me and I was glad when it ended as it was boring. We lived in Bermuda at the time and went to see everything as there was no TV!
