Re: Time permitted outside of UK

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Visa vignette issued, but we can't arrive in UK before expiry date!

We bit the bullet and went ahead and confirmed the booking and payment. My calculations are that the exchange rate is just not in our favour at the moment, plus VFS charge an additional £50+ on top,...

Re: Visa vignette issued, but we can't arrive in UK before expiry date!

So I've just completed the online application, as you both suggested.

The process makes mention of 'new passport' on a couple of occasions, but I continued nonetheless.

At the end of the online...

This is what we aren’t sure about. Because of family issues, we know my wife can’t come until April at the earliest. So we’re not sure whether to state early April (which is most likely), or to err...

I've just tried that route, and it appears to work. However, the following pops up before creating the new application:

Re: Visa vignette issued, but we can't arrive in UK before expiry date!

Thanks spouse of Scouse.

I've checked the visa4UK online application portal, and can't seem to find any such options.

The only items next to the visa application are:

Re: Supporting docs from Sheffield time frame?

Thanks!

Yes, it was quite quick, although we paid the extra £700 or so for 'priority service' through VFS. And it was still around 25 working days (priority service says a maximum of 30 working...

Re: Supporting docs from Sheffield time frame?

Just in case this helps.

We sent docs to Sheffield from UK, and asked for them to be returned to UK. Sent on 22 Jan, returned to us by 26 Jan. So super quick, but visa took a little longer.

We...
