Just in case this helps.
We sent docs to Sheffield from UK, and asked for them to be returned to UK. Sent on 22 Jan, returned to us by 26 Jan. So super quick, but visa took a little longer.
We received news of visa success today (28 Feb) and the start date on the visa is 23 Feb. (We also seem to have had brief delay, as they misplaced one of our docs, as outlined in another thread started by me).
We sent docs to Sheffield from UK, and asked for them to be returned to UK. Sent on 22 Jan, returned to us by 26 Jan. So super quick, but visa took a little longer.

Yes, it was quite quick, although we paid the extra £700 or so for 'priority service' through VFS. And it was still around 25 working days (priority service says a maximum of 30 working days processing time).
