We were 22 days back in April, however I called them on Friday as we have our pets TOR URN and to see about adding our furnishings to it. I was told that they are currently working on applications...

Wow, that was high. I know it's a pain but resubmit for TOR and then reclaim VAT. Disappointing wait times for that, too. We are 6 weeks in and have heard nothing.

Yes, going into Ireland is a whole other ball game. We looked at that option, too, but it then gave us other headaches of getting the animals to Scotland.. always stressful!

We pay $1500 to our US accountant for doing our taxes and FBAR reporting etc. on top of that we pay our U.K. Accountant, so what you have been quoted doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

We are here in Austin on a O1/O3 visas, and are now looking to go back to the U.K. In the next month or two, having been here for 9 years. Our children fell off of our visa and 2 have now returned...
