Re: Taking low-residency study while on an L-1A visa and working full-time

Apologies for the lack of response. We've since found it's fine, according to ICE's own website (and also legal advice):...

Taking low-residency study while on an L-1A visa and working full-time

Hi all,

We moved from London to New Jersey last year, with a little help along the way from people on this site - so thank you!

I have another question now - my wife, who is on an L-1A, has...

Re: More EAD questions?

Thank you! I'm also on an L-2, my application went to Dallas. It caught me cold, I haven't even prepared my resume or put feelers out yet.

Oh, and to follow up Noorah's answer to my question......

Re: More EAD questions?

Amazing! Just 60 days wait and no biometrics. I was prepared to wait twice that long. Must be luck of the draw.

Re: More EAD questions?

Hi all - just received EAD approval notice today, dated 30 April (filed 1 March). I guess I still have quite a long wait for the card itself, given the current timelines? I should still prepare...

Hi all,

Well, thanks for all of your help so far - after a ton of delays we finally move to NJ next week on L1A/L2 visas!

So in comparison this feels like a small-time issue, but...

Re: EAD application on L-2 - permanent address required?

Thanks for this - this won't be an issue in my case as my current job requires me in the UK (it's not portable). But I'm aware of the restrictions and know I couldn't pick up any UK freelance work...

Re: EAD application on L-2 - permanent address required?

Fantastic - your quick, useful advice in 2017 is as good as in 2008 it seems! Thanks very much.

EAD application on L-2 - permanent address required?

Hi all,

Well it seems like we're finally getting our L-1/L-2 visas moving, and we're shortly going to submit paperwork.

One question I have is regarding my EAD application - we are planning on...

Re: L-1A & L-2 visas - arranging visa appointment

Lovely, thanks Jack. Really appreciate that.

I've just discovered my wife's company can forward a blanket petition so there won't be a need for premium processing at all. Seems like their HR is...

L-1A & L-2 visas - arranging visa appointment

Hi all

So we're getting close to submitting paperwork to begin the L-1A (+L-2) process. I suspect given our timelines - looking to move over late-July - we now have to go down the premium...

Re: Cat Relocation

Fantastic, thanks KK85! I did see that Virgin page but wasn't sure if the 85F thing was governmental advice. I will give Virgin a call and check round some other airlines.

Re: Cat Relocation

Hi all,

We are looking at moving with our cat to NJ in July. Ideally we'd be flying American Airlines but they do not accept cats in the hold when the temperature at departure or destination is...

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

See post #10.

Has your spouse already activated their L1? I guess this needs to happen first, no?

Good luck - let us know how it goes.

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

Hmm. Will bear that in mind as I don't want to shell out on plane tickets if the primary purpose of the trip is to activate the L2 early and start on EAD paperwork. Thanks for this.

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

OK, thanks very much. Hopefully we can get on with the application ASAP so I don't spend too long over there twiddling my thumbs. Might be good to get some volunteer experience under my belt to pass...

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

Great stuff, thanks so much for the quick reply. That's very reassuring.

I heard about the EAD, didn't realise it took that long though - that's a bit of a worry. I already have an SS number from...

L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

Hi all,

Looking to move to the US with my wife's work in the next few months, so I suspect this will be the first of many posts on here. I'm a veteran of eight J-1 visas through my summer camp...
