Re: Earnings and pensions when returning to the UK from Switzerland

Ok, I can't offer any direct advice specifically on things in canton ZH (I was domiciled in GE) but ... my Pillar II provider people were ZH based; I managed to drill down to a useful direct line of...

Re: Earnings and pensions when returning to the UK from Switzerland

Income from Pillar I will be taxed wherever you are resident at the time of claim, the Swiss will not look to tax it if you are elsewhere.

And yes to the other two having to be taken in full if...

Re: Earnings and pensions when returning to the UK from Switzerland

Re: Home and garden projects

Reasonably well equipped on the knife front too

Re: Useful VPN access

Bill, a question please, do you use it to access iPlayer, and if so does it work ok?

I just had a look, the lifetime subscription is now USD 200.00  but there is 24 months for USD 68.39

Am...

Re: Useful VPN access

Yup, understood, I used satellite TV when back in CH, hacked into a few news agency upstreaming channels, often very illuminating.

The Sky thing I mentioned is a totally legit UK based company -...

Re: Useful VPN access

Understand your hyper-cautiousness, maybe try Express vs Nord side by side on trial bases if available? I know that Nord do a trial, not sure on Express.

I get the bulk of my UK stuff (sadly...

Re: Useful VPN access

I'm a Nord subscriber, not purely for UK TV purposes, as I wish to access other geoblocked sites as well as doing some other stuff elsewhere.

I have various free VPNs as add-ons to other products...

Re: UK Frozen Pensions

I hear you, it's maybe a bit tedious to set up, but it's a one off once established and up and running it's much easier to interact with all things gov.uk based.

I think that I did mine 100%...

Re: UK Frozen Pensions

Have you got a UK Government Gateway account?

I found that that's a key that unlocks tons of stuff.

Re: UK Frozen Pensions

It's maybe possible as a one off, but they do not like it at all and will ask you to use bank statements to verify.

Re: schengen travel on PT ID card?

In theory it should work fine; I've flown Schiphol-Alicante and returned Valencia-Schiphol using just my Belgian ID card ... though I did have my UK passport with me, but didn't need to produce it at...

Re: Belgian eID for non residents

Yay, a result, well done.

The tax stuff might seem a bit daunting at first, but it's really not that bad - assuming that it's the 'standard' form.
