Re: Expats in the Salerno area

Pistachio is one of my favourite ice creams but my absolute favourite has to be coconut!
Like I said, I'd be happy to meet up, if I manage to get there at all!
I've been aiming to get out there for...

My father was in the ice cream business & we used to make our own blue...

Re: Dual citizenship

I've heard stories of how terrible the service is in the London consulate. If you're lucky enough to even get an appointment!

Re: Dual Citizenship and how to proceed now!

I am also looking to get an Italian passport, as I'm looking to eventually move there to live and work. Also it may become useful after the UK exits in a couple of years, if only to get through...

Re: Dual citizenship

My father arrived in the UK in the mid fifties and got British citizenship, or obtained a British passport in 2000.
I don't think my mother bothered.

Dual citizenship

I've looked online but would prefer to get advice from actual experience of obtaining dual nationality.
I was born in the UK but all my family are Italian.
My parents emigrated in the 1950's, so...

Re: Expats in the Salerno area

Hi Giulia.
I've had to postpone my move until after Xmas due to a variety of reasons, including family illness.
I'm hoping to make it, if only to catch up with family, around spring time or...

Re: "Brexit"

I admire the determination & kudos that its already reached the required amount for the discussion about the discussion to be held but I really don't think it is of any use now.
I sincerely hope I'm...

Re: Expats in the Salerno area

Hi all. I too will be arriving in Salerno within the next couple of months. That is, hopefully, if things go smoothly with the finalising of me and my ex's house sale.
I am also quite fluent in...

Re: "Brexit"

I won't pretend to know about new trade agreements.
But I'd rather have straight cucumbers and bananas, than less human rights.
Of course, a choice would be better.
When people more powerful than...

Re: Renting, doctors & N.I.E number.

I understand.
I'm going mainly for an extended break and to do some writing.
I may also do an online T.E.F.L course, so I will be busy.
I rarely drink alcohol, don't smoke and will be living...

Re: Renting, doctors & N.I.E number.

I would only.be spending 6 months maximum (180 days) in Spain at any one time.
Would I be able to buy my medication from a pharmacy with just my euro health card?
I'd happily provide proof of...

Re: "Brexit"

I'm not a political analyst.
In fact, politics and economics confuse me at the best of times!
However, I don't think anyone really knows for sure the consequences or advantages if the UK chooses to...

Re: Give Salerno a go..?

Grazie, 'o nonno.
I agree with you, to a certain extent.
20% is bad enough, but 45% of under 30's out of work sounds really high.
I'm sure most of those people do actually want a job, and simply...

Re: "Brexit"

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but I thought I'd inject a little relative humour into this thread.

Re: Give Salerno a go..?

Hi ononno, thanks for the info.
Traffic is the bane of modern living, whether in south London or Salerno!
I must say, I've missed visiting Salerno.
I have two uncles who live in the old part of...

Re: Renting, doctors & N.I.E number.

Thanks for the reply Marc Bernard & Luton Lad.
I used to work in a pharmacy & remember that we used to issue to holiday makers too.
It was called 'emergency dispensation'.
That's put my mind at...

Re: Renting, doctors & N.I.E number.

Hi pwwm,
The drug I need is a P.O.M medicine here called Bisoprolol.
Its to correct a heartbeat problem.
If its not much more expensive than N.H.S, then I don't mind paying.
As long as its not...

Re: Renting, doctors & N.I.E number.

Thanks for your reply Wasss.
I understand your point, and agree to a large extent, but there were a few other questions that I would have liked input on apart from the EU one.
Any advice on the...
