Re: What have the Europeans ever done for us?

On the UK map click on the West Midlands (http://www.the-eu-and-me.org.uk/the-eu-near-me/case-studies/west-midlands) and you get:

So the EU doesn't claim to be doing anything for the 6 million or...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

I don't know if that is true or not, but it should be possible to prove or disprove it. Just look at the trade treaties negotiated by some non-EU countries and compare them to the equivalent trade...

Re: EU Referendum

Democratic trumps efficient.

Consider the process for that.
The European Parliament gets a vote on the president in an election with 1 candidate who is proposed by the European Council. They...

Re: EU Referendum

Let's say there is an issue about which you feel strongly and believe should be covered by legislation. What can you do about it?

Under the UK's system of governance you can lobby your MP (or any...

Re: EU Referendum

Even if you are convinced an exit would be bad for ex-pats, don't you think some people will be voting based on what they believe is best for Britain, or what they believe is best for their children...

Re: Implications for Ex-Pats if GB leaves the EU.

To raise a different issue, if the UK left the EU what would be the effect on driving licences? There is an EU directive that means any EU driving licence is valid anywhere within the EU (I am...

Re: Need IFA before take cash from a UK pension

Just a quick update on this: no progress! I am still unable to find an IFA who is willing to act as my adviser, so I cannot make any headway. Is there nobody who has faced a similar problem?

Re: LOBBY YOUR EMBASSY! If you feel being part of the European Union is important t

My immigration status in Finland is... totally unrelated to the EU. I had a permanent residence permit here before Finland joined the EU so the EU has no bearing on that. That is me though, and...

Re: LOBBY YOUR EMBASSY! If you feel being part of the European Union is important t

Can we step back a little? Before lobbying anyone could someone explain exactly how/why a British exit from the EU would have more or different impact on an expat than on a UK resident? If we can't...

I see you have already had a response from a far more authoritative source than I, but I will comment anyway since you asked.
