Bahrain war damage

I made about 12 trips to Bahrain over the years. Was wondering if there has been much damage from Iran drone or missile attacks?

Re: Home and garden projects

When the window is opened enough for the vent tube to go thru is the inside perimeter of the window a flat surface where an inside screen could be placed?

Re: Home and garden projects

That would be a problem. But an inside flat screen with a hole in it could work.

Re: Home and garden projects

In the US many hardware stores or window supply companies can make a custom screen fairly cheaply. This will cover entire window externally. It can be held in place by several options.

Re: Home and garden projects

Another approach is to buy a screen for the window type and model which will cover entire window unit. Then pinch the duct pipe with the window opening staying behind the external screen.

Re: Home and garden projects

A can of spray paint would make it look good and the plywood would give something solid to attach the netting top and bottom to. Make it wide enough that the hole doesn’t compromise the strength...

Re: Home and garden projects

Lowes sells 2 by 4 pieces of plywood and can cut for free. A hole could be cut by drilling many small holes around a marked circle or any plumbing company could drill a large proper size hole as they...

Re: Home and garden projects

I would use a painted 1/4 to 3/8 thick plywood board to fill the open space with hole cut for duct then close the remaining top and bottom openings with the netting and Velcro.

Re: Home and garden projects

Is a total seal needed to keep out insects? That would be difficult and require a lot of effort. If that is not needed a piece of thin plywood with holes drilled for vent ducts could be cut to fit...

Re: TV Antenna’s

I am very happy that I got rid of dish and went with the antenna and the Tablo unit. My Tablo has a four channel recorder that is very user friendly. Plus it wirelessly connects the antenna to both...

Re: TV Antenna’s

That was a consideration for me also but I was about 50 miles from the stations and decided to put on roof. I had already made a very sturdy bracket for Dish to use for their dish and I just modified...

Re: TV Antenna’s

How far are you from the stations? I like the Tablo unit because it wirelessly connects all TV’s in the house to the antenna if you have WiFi plus is a 50 hour VCR. It has an optional built in...

Re: TV Antenna’s

I bet the extra height of second floor helps. A Tablo device with built in antenna could work well for you plus give you a video recorder. The cost is a little over $100 for the unit. They have a...

TV Antenna’s

I had Dish network for over 8 years and they kept raising prices and with free streaming it was getting to the point I was only using Dish for local channels. We are 70 miles from Nashville and 50...

Re: Home and garden projects

Thanks. I saw it at the local scrap yard and didn’t want to see it scrapped when it’s better quality than new stuff being made today. A little rehab and it’s good for another 50 years.

Re: Home and garden projects

I got it finished and a new motor installed. There is a company somewhere in Midwest called Surplus Center that has a lot of new industrial items very low priced. I bought the new 1/2 hp motor for...

Re: Home and garden projects

I got the drill press totally disassembled and have built the stand. I found a compact spare tire for the base and purchased a trailer axle hub new for $15. That’s better than trying to weld...

Re: Home and garden projects

I swore no more projects after the Fire Hydrant but I was at our local scrap yard and saw this drill press for scrap metal price. It is a Walker Turner from 1956. Walker Turner is a well known...

Re: Home and garden projects

My neighbors are far enough away but I will make sure it’s not a bother to them. My property is too large for fences or chemical treatments. The damage is requiring much time to repair and bags and...

I would recommend calling a realtor in the general area you are looking at. You can find an office online with photos of their agents and pick one to contact. While not looking to buy a property they...

Re: Home and garden projects

That was sort of my plan as we have two young male dogs who have nearly destroyed some small bushes. It turned out so well I don’t want them to go near it.
