Have you sent them the documents proving your no claims or was it just verbally? I had an issue where they gave a quote over the phone but it then increased as the actual insurance provider wouldn't...

You should do it, your MPs office probably has a person who deals with CIC on a regular basis, mine did. She was able to put a call in to someone in CIC who could do something.

Have you contacted your MP. Thats what I did and they were able to put a call into CIC and it obviously made them get the finger out.

So despite CIC claiming they hadn't received my updated photos guess what, my PR card arrived today. Hallelujah! Hopefully when 2021 comes around and I have to renew it will be easier, maybe I should...

I have no doubt. I was pointing it out as being on the cheaper end of the Canadian plans but you're right more expensive than UK plans.

Check out virgin for mobile phone - I've got 2GB data, 500 anytime minutes, unlimited evening and weekend minutes, unlimited texts for $50

Also to be on the safe side contact your insurance...

So my MP's office contacted CIC. They are saying they didn't receive my updated photos... Fair enough things get lost but why on earth when I submitted a case specific enquiry did they just come back...

Hi,

Yes I have submitted 2 enquiries using that form, one around 1 month ago and 1 last Monday. I haven't seen that PDF before I will fill it out and fax it off see if that generates any response.

I agree! I renewed my British passport in June, it look less then 2 weeks! I've emailed my MP and his team are going to follow up with CIC. No response yet to the case specific enquiry i submitted...

If I was going to be away for a longer time then maybe but I can't imagine they process them in less than a week if not more. Plus not sure I would feel comfortable sending away my passport while in...

Yeah I will have to look into flying from Buffalo. I will look into who my local MP is and see if they can do anything. Hopefully I will get a response from the enquiry I submitted by next week but...

I have to go for a training course for work. It's seems clear to me I can't apply for a travel document from those requirements. Is there any other option? It seems ridiculous to be that they bought...

Looks like the new spec is the same as the passport photos so at least that makes it easier to get the correct photo

Do you know when they updated the card? Just a pity they can't advise you on landing or send an email to everyone who had an application in prior to the update.

No it didn't say why just said the photos didn't meet specification.

Clareylou - we applied around the same time as you so looks like they have changed the specification since then.

Wow nearly 4 months after landing finally get an email saying my photos aren't suitable...

Does anyone know if the specs have changed? I will need to dig out the old documents but I know my photos...

I don't have experience with London, I'm from Belfast where salaries were a lot lower than London lol. For the record the contracting jobs I was looking at for SQL were around $45/50 an hour so yeah...

As others have said use linkedin but also use indeed.ca or monster to get an idea of the jobs available and how your skills fit. I'm a SQL server DBA/Developer and had no problems finding a job in...
