Finding a Sublet in Seville

Hi there,

I'm looking for a sublet in Seville for mid-january to mid-february/march. Can anybody recommend any websites that may list sublets or temporary accommodation?

I've already checked...

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

Thanks for the reply. The employer is her mother, so I'm sure whatever paperwork needed to be filled could be filled. Is it a straightforward process?

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

I understand, thanks. I'm a freelance writer so if I do get any sort of job it'll likely just a part-time job to supplement my income. My girlfriend doesn't actually need a work visa as she'll be...

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

Oh, Former Lancastrian said common-law partner could be an option? If not, that would explain why I've had difficulty finding anything about it. So unless my USC GF enrolls in a study course (which...

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

(I'm not sure if bumping is allowed, so apologies if it's not.)

Can anybody help? I've still tried searching online, but all results I've found are to do with a natural Canadian citizen and their...

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

Hi there,

I've tried to read more about Common Law partners, but I'm still a little hazy. I don't remember if they asked if I had a common law partner on my application, but I would have said no...

Re: American/Brit Moving to Canada

Thanks for your reply. That's good news. We actually have lived together for more than 12 months; it's actually been about two years, but that's split between many places (we were travelling around...

American/Brit Moving to Canada

Hi there,

I'm hoping somebody can clarify a couple of things for me. I'm currently in the states with my American girlfriend. At the end of August, we'll be moving to Canada. I'm waiting for my...

Re: Which country refuses more visitors, UK or USA?

Thanks for the replies. It's interesting, isn't it, the pressure that flying puts on entry. Nobody wants to spend hundreds of pounds and fly around the world to be rejected, so it's built up: "must...

Which country refuses more visitors, UK or USA?

Hi there,

I'm a UKC, whilst my girlfriend is American. We have virtually identical circumstances (online work meaning we can be anywhere, extensive travellers, no mortgage/jobs in out home...

Re: IEC 2015

That's the question. Based on my interpretation of the document linked on the previous page, the visa staff will ask for one when they see you've been in the states. I'm not convinced we have to be...

Re: IEC 2015

Yes, that's true, but then once you go through myCIC there's a space for a police certificate, which shows you definitely do need one. On the link you posted, the bilateral agreement link shows that...

Re: IEC 2015

Really? Rejecting an applicant for following the rules (nowhere have I been asked to submit an FBI check) seems ridiculous.

Edit: Also, just to clarify: I will get a check, I just can't right now...

Re: IEC 2015

It's a nightmare. Not the process itself, because you can tell IEC you've applied, but the actual applying! I'm in Prague and there's NOWHERE to get fingerprints taken. So I can't even apply. I've...

Re: Entering USA, Vague Return Flight

I don't know exactly how much a completely refundable ticket is, but I bet it's out of my budget!

I think this plan is best.

Entering USA, Vague Return Flight

Hi there.

I posted here a while ago about finding a way to live in the States, but instead we - me and my USC GF - have decided to go to Canada as getting a visa is straightforward (and it's...

Re: IEC 2015

A few minutes, I see. So I'll have to be quick. How long is the initial application?

Also, what's the general success rate? As in, how many people typically apply for the 5300 visas? Just...

Re: IEC 2015

I see. So I can request the additional time in order to get the checks through? Apologies re: times - I read elsewhere that all the spots are taken "within a few hours". Must have been a mistake.

Re: IEC 2015

Oh! I didn't know that. Pardon my enormous ignorance, but how can the application window even be open a few hours if everyone knows when they can apply? Am I missing something? (I'm guessing I am)
