Thanks for your advice, I'm hearing the 'insulation' point loud and clear! Our house in the uk is old and cold, with draughts and unless heating is on 24hrs a day, its miserable. I want nothing more...

There is a huge stack of wood there now but highly likely that will go with the owners when they leave. We have been warned they will probably leave all the crap, and there is so much of it....

Hi, thanks for the advice. We have a friend with ground source heat pump in their barn conversion and like you say insulation is key in it being a success. Even successful I didn't feel warm enough...

My husband has looked a little into it, from what he can gather the electricity supplier pays for a building but has rights to all the electricity. We already have huge barns and no need for others....
