A year ago it was rubbish, had a friend just get back from there a few weeks ago and he said it was ok. As Hebe said, there are more expats there these days though.

I usualy get one of those travel cards which connects to your internet banking. You just top it up via online if you need and after your holiday is over you can transfer the remainder card funds back...

I too don't see any issue with doing this. Just apply for the tourist visa on arrival in the Phills and then piggy back it for as long as you need. Exit the country and on return do this all over...
