Re: Additional Evidence Request for I-751

I would say you got the RFE because you did not send evidence spanning the entire period from marriage to filing the I-751. Make sure you send bank statements that cover the entire period, same for...

Re: Houston bound

Congrats! Safe travels to Houston! We moved to Houston last September! It's a great city from what we have explored so far (which is not much considering the size lol).

Re: Adjustment of Status and lost F1 visa

I don't think it will be an issue. My passport was expired for several years when I did my AOS. The key is having the proof of lawful admission.

Re: Adjustment of Status and lost F1 visa

If you use the new passport number on the AOS paperwork, I would definately include a letter explaining the old one was lost hence the different passport number associated with the proof of entry....

Re: Adjustment of Status and lost F1 visa

Did you obtain the F-1 within the last year? If not then you only need to provide proof of lawful entry (e.g. Copy of I-94 or passport stamp). I would provide your old passport number since that is...

Re: Gays in Houston, TX

Welcome! Can't help with the Texas part or the E2 but my partner and I are a same-sex couple in NY. We went through the Greencard process a couple of years ago (my partner is the USC and I'm a Brit)....

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

With respect, you don't have any direct experience in the process. :)

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

Perhaps you should read the instruction again more slowly...it clearly says bank statements should be included with the transaction history. Not just the first page or partial transaction history.

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

Indeed. It's a great resource for I-751 filers. :focus:

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion :) I'm trying to give the OP helpful information on what USCIS adjudicators *expect* to see in an I-751 package as of late. Why chance an RFE when you...

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

Over on Visajourney - they have a huge forum dedicated to removal of conditions with monthly trackers where people post their timelines and report RFEs along with the reasons why they were issued.

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

Exactly - you only have 3rd party experience in the process.

Elsewhere there are countless recent reports of RFEs being issued for lack of bank statements, not enough bank statement, incomplete...

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

No. That might have been the case years ago when you filed, it's certainly not the case now and is a guaranteed RFE.

Re: Documentation to send with I-751

We filed our I-751 last October. I would order the IRS tax transcripts, it's much easier and they come quickly. I just ordered our 2015 transcript and it arrived in 4 days.

All the evidence you...

Re: VWP changing status

This is incorrect, as soon as a person files their AOS package (and receives their NOA 1) they are considered "in status" even if they had overstayed.

Re: Driving License in New York for VWP visitor AOSing to PR?

AOS from VWP is not "abusing the system" it's a perfectly legal pathway. The chances of the OP having issues is about the same as someone adjusting status from a K-1.

Re: I-751 Completion - Parts 7 & 8

That was my experience also, I got my NOA1 about a week after they received my case. I would setup an infopass appointment rather than dealing with the "misinformation line".

Re: I-751 Evidence

Indeed, however the latest version does have some rather large changes, it's now 11 pages long, including indications that the US Citizen Spouse may have to attend a biometrics appointment.

As a...

Re: I-751 Evidence

Have we suddenly travelled forward in time to 2023? Most people come here looking for advice on current procedures not those from 18 years ago.

Re: I-751 Evidence

Umm yes actually - it would have been more useful and clear to have just written "...dating back to when you got married".
