it was indeed dictated by the university, we had to sell the house as it takes so long, but we have made no other travel plans at all..

I have spoken to the husband, he says he hasnt mentioned GC to them, and that we can just go ahead and do it ourselves with the lawyer without the uni, is that an option??

the uni themselves have a guy that is meant to deal with new staff coming in, and quite honestly doesnt know his ass from his elbow whenever we ask him anything! he just says ask the lawyer, so now...

he applied for the job, and thats the most annoying thing that they were not upfront with what they were paying, as far as we understood they would pay for it all as I assumed that was the legality...

thanks for the replies, yes its a university, and its mighty annoying! its just an unforseen cost, they gave him $2000 toward moving costs, and now we will have to pay that out, and possibly more!...

yes its cap exempt, ive had a good look around the internet and it appears the employer only HAS to pay for the initial petition, we may be asked to pay for other things including legal expenses and...
