I have had bad experiences with Citi in the UK and I thus I do not wish to go back to them for US banking needs.

No but the investigation was handled badly and was ****ed because the police force was (and still is to an extent) institutionally racist. 2 of the murderers were given life in the end though...

I also stumbled across BNL (BNP Paribas subsidiary in Italy), they look like one of the the better bets to go with in Italy....
