I will openly admit that I don't know all the ins and outs of how the NHS works but I don't understand how private companies who operate on a cost + profit basis could provide the same level of care...

Yes I've looked into it, the most practical way would be that I would have to move to England ahead of him, and find 1 or 2 jobs to meet the financial requirements. I also have a townhouse in America...

My boyfriend just went from 1099 in the USA to becoming an employee with the same company (same pay), he was upset when he found out how much tax (including medicare, social security etc) was coming...
