Re: Travelling with pending I-751

Thank you Rete. There will be someone at home to check on Mail while I'm gone. I am being silly, you're right. It's just that I would hate to get a nasty surprise regarding my application at POE. I...

Re: I-751 questions

Rete - why do I now have no choice? I could cancel the cashiers check and do a money order?

Re: I-751 questions

I apologize. It occurred to me after I left the bank. So do you think it's safer to use the personal checks with our old address on them? I just called USCIS and the person couldn't say definitively...

Re: I-751 questions

I already got the cashiers check :- (. We do have personal checks but they have our old address on them. I thought perhaps USCIS would not accept or question it.

I don't see why they wouldn't...

Re: I-751 questions

One last question, I promise! Will USCIS accept a cashiers check? I know that a personal check would be better for us as it's easily traceable when cashed but we don't have any personal checks to...

Re: Re-entering the US on Friday

I wasn't surprised that I was granted entry, but I was surprised that he didn't ask me any questions.

Re: Re-entering the US on Friday

Just a quick update... The officer asked me how long I had been in the UK for and said 5 and a half months. He then said 'nice' and asked for my fingerprints and then stamped me through. Couldn't...

Thanks guys. I'm sure I'll be fine.

Purely out of curiosity, does anyone know if they count the day of departure and the day that you re-enter as dates you are absent? You are still in the US on...

Re: 4 and a half month absence from the US

Thanks for the input guys.

It'll probably more like a 5 month absence but I'm guessing this is still generally ok.

I'll be mindful to keep future trips to a short time frame just in case it...

Re: 4 and a half month absence from the US

After how long is it generally a problem? I have a few things to tie up this end so it could enter into the 5th month.

I'll be sure to be back by the time 6...
