Try 12 years, that was the wait I had from the time my sister applied for my visa's:( well worth the wait but I was in my late 20's when she applied.

Don't bother coming here soon as the construction trades are dead in the water, if you are looking for a State or Federal job you'll need to be a US citizen. I don't see an improvement yet here...

Ok wake up call we applied for our visa in 1992, we got our visa's issued in 2005 so 5 years is a pipe dream unless you can succeed in a investor's visa
otherwise look towards Canada or Australia :(

My Petition got approved in Sept 1992, We got our visa from London in December 2004 so he has got a long wait and there is no way of speeding this process up :(
