Re: Want to keep my UK driving licence

Please (asking nicely), don't bother ever replying to one of my posts again. Who do you think you are telling me why I should feel a particular way about something (rhetorical question)? It means a...

This is what riled me the most. I knew I was right but when everyone at the DMV says the same...

Re: Want to keep my UK driving licence

Yes I am a UKC. Did you mean USC? If so then no I'm not (I'm a UKC) and have no intention of ever being a USC. I'm in the US with my USC wife. Sorry, looking back I did use the word "residency"...

Re: Want to keep my UK driving licence

Hi Noorah,

Thanks for your reply and it confirms what I suspected. I'll see if I can get hold of a supervisor to get this resolved.

Regarding travelling to and from the UK, I guess I'll be...

Re: Best bank to deal with Ex Pats

If you use the ATM's to cash a cheque you get a receipt with a photo of the cheque on it. Hopefully it's not just a SE England thing.

Instant card was cool though, I agree. I personally prefer...

Re: Best bank to deal with Ex Pats

Natwest, Lloyds, Barclays and HSBC all did (and have done for some time) this when I left the UK.
UK also has wide spread Chip & PIN.
So who really needs to catch up to who?

Wells Fargo allow...

Re: Best bank to deal with Ex Pats

+1 for Wells Fargo though I agree it probably does very much vary branch to branch but their customer services, account options etc have been great.

Re: Who isn't going to vote?

If you don't care about politics etc. then by all means don't vote. Unless you do care about your children's future or that of people you care about.

If you're choosing not to vote just because...

Re: Adding oversea's relatives to car insurance (USA)

My USC partner added me to her insurance with State Farm without issue online. They have the option for selecting foreign driving licence. If you have someone that visits regularly this will probably...

I replied to your post in the Welcome section on this subject too; in short, I would recommend Canada any day of the week. IMO the way of life is greatly better in just about every way (I...

Hi Nads,

Welcome to the BE forum. I'm in the process myself of moving to the U.S. but for me it's to be with my USC wife.

Having said that, if I had a choice, I'd move to Canada (we met when my...
