Will definitely add Gibraltar to the list to look at, & Valencia seems to keep coming up a strong choice everywhere I look on the internet.

Thank you for all that, yes my Tax is interesting, my rate is after Azerbaijan Tax has been taken care of ie company pays my Azeri Tax and issues me with a Tax cert for it.

I appreciate that thank you, certainly an area we will look into, not bothered too much about the travel, obviously being closer to the airport is an advantage but not a necessity, I will also check...

Your not sure how I can ask about three cities? very easily.

They are all drastically different in both culture and weather, I was not aware of this, I find the only way to find these things out...

Thank you for all those suggestions, I should add that my company pays my flights, and they are approx £600 from Scotland anyways. I just done a little search on sky scanner and compared prices...

Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion but we visited Turkey once and I absolutely hated it, didn't like the people (sorry if that sounds harsh) not the sort of place we would want to...

Greatly appreciate the heads up on the area, doesn't sound too good, maybe wrong first choice but it is very early days, we haven't even had our first visit to a location we like the sound of yet.

We would leave that up to him, to explain he is actually from a previous relationship so he has a whole other family if you get me. We would not just be ditching him by himself in the UK

I take it back, received an email today confirming they had made a mistake and it was actually 35% Tax which the company would cover.
So looks like I might be workign in Baku soon, am sure their ...

I also though 6% seemed very low, especially from what I have been reading up on.
The exact words in the email are .....

We pay your tax in Baku what we do is increase your rate by 6% which is...

Thank you for that Meaow, I have been told that the company will take 6% Azerbaijan tax from me and will issue me with a tax certificate that I show to the UK, It doesn't sound like the job offer is...
