Yeah agreed, we're from just outside Liverpool, where the cost of living is a lot less than Oxford etc, so maybe I'm just noticing the difference here more

Yeah thanks, I understand that, but regardless of the amount of research I did before coming here, it in no way rang true when trying to establish the affordability compared to the UK

I wouldn't say $1600 a year is cheap by any stretch of the imagination !

I paid the equivalent of $700 a year in the UK for full comprehensive, with no claims protection, over 10 years no claims...

Fair point yeah, however driver 'Y' has been doing this for 5 years, no claims....it can't be simply put that commuting equals more risk....

Here in BC does personal, domestic & pleasure cover also cover you for travel to/from home and place of work as in the UK ?

Just in case, for some strange reason, ICBC deem this as business use,...

That was one of the things that annoyed me, I also used that template letter back in January, but to no avail, UK insurance companies still failed to deliver.

Yep that's what I meant, have a BC licence but dont drive for x number of years and ICBC give you more discount....weird, ah well....in the UK if you haven't had insurance of your own for more than 2...
