Re: Spelling Mistakes and general grammar confusion on the London site?

I completely agree with you on this. There is a part in the FAQs about the length of the validity of the medical and x-ray; it has both spelling and grammar errors in one answer.

Definitive best POE

Right, let's see if we can get a list of the best POEs. Which is faster, slower, friendlier - whatever.

I expect there will be a lot of 'it depends on...' notes, but if we can stick to actual...

Re: ilak19's question: medical expiring before interview

Honestly, there's nothing new he said about today than any other person has put down about the interview. He said the only thing that surprised him was how short the interviews were. And that...

Re: ilak19's question: medical expiring before interview

This may be moot now, but my husband (UK applicant) had his successful interview today. He had his medical in April. The Conoff today told him the medical is good for 12 months, but the chest x-ray...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

I would never assume they owe me anything. In fact I went so far the other way that I supplied the husband with about 200 sheets of information to take to the interview - in case they maybe,...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

I'm only happy to do it because it worked out fine. I'd begun to berate myself for missing that piece of info (which is hidden in FAQs, with a spelling error and a point of grammar that leaves it...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

The whole thing was much easier than expected.

Husband asked the conoff what his options were because his medical was in April 2013, and we were likely not ready to go by mid October (the 6...

Re: POE Toronto?

I think I assumed we would have to physically enter the US, so that's fine. My question now is: Can we really simply turn around the same or next day and head back to the UK? I mean, my husband is...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

Oh, I just love being the guinea pig

I think we will call Knightsbridge on Monday, see if they have any news/info on this - if it's ever come up before (if they're even allowed to answer...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

I just re-read the Medical Examination PDF which still says that the medical is good for 12 months, but the chest x-ray for 6 months. Could he get just the chest x-ray re-done, and sent over from...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

His interview is this Tuesday, 20 Aug. So I doubt the doctors would be able to see him on Monday.

Can he reschedule the interview for later so that he can get the new medical before it? That...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

You wouldn't need to go for "a couple of weeks". You'd only need to go for one day... long enough for your husband to get his visa endorsed. Indeed, you don't even need to leave the airport before...

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

Well, darn. Is there any 'grandfathering' in here, like if we applied (or had the medical or sent in certain forms) prior to the change? Otherwise that's really unkind (I know - it's a government).

Re: VISA APPROVED!!!

Can I jump in with a non-K1 visa question? Or is that frowned upon? Having a small moment of panic and my searches aren't helping.

If y'all are feeling generous: Does the 6 months from date of...

Re: POE Toronto?

Oh, yay! We're going to be entering during hockey season, so this makes me so very very happy that we can spend some time in any one of those cities before entering the US - it will be the best trip...

POE Toronto?

I found an older (2009) closed thread about entering the US for the first time on the visa through Toronto. But that threw up questions that might need more recent answers.

I am wondering if it...

Re: new visa courier service- questions

I'm still having this problem with the site. The emails 'confirm' that the details are entered, and that we're signed up for home delivery - they certainly took the £30. However, I try to sign in,...

Re: New On-line Booking System for London Embassy

We've been going through the US Embassy in London for all of the documents so far. And so far so good. Until now...

My husband, the applicant, has an appt for 20 Aug. at the Embassy. I saw the new...

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

All right, so it looks like we're going to give this a try: calling the extortion number, getting the anti-spam subject line and email address, and writing to let them know of our availability dates....

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

Thanks, Speed. Now it's all starting to come together in my over-worked, under-fed, way-too-much-time-spent-on-immigration brain!

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

Still don't know what you mean 'got the email subject line'. But, regardless, this clearly isn't a normal, accepted route, so we may have to avoid it. Does anyone know the email address for the...

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

So, before this thread blows up even more, I want to just ask a couple final logistics questions and maybe narrow down some advice:
1. Can anyone supply the email address I would use to notify the...

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

I'm not sure what syed84 means here. Do we call before we leave and ask the London embassy to email us about the interview? That would be a great weight lifted.

I'm not happy about being told they...

Re: Can I call and request an interview appointment?

I read through this thread with interest because we have also booked our flight to the US and wanted some info.

The medical forms etc. were there at the Embassy IVB, they had received but not...

Re: money transfer

We'll have to be doing this in a few months' time, so I started looking into it early. I spoke to a company called UKFOREX, and they were quite helpful, if a little confusing. So it might be worth a...
