Re: UK vs Canada financial side

I know it wasn't Shakyuk who mentioned the kids thing. I was pointing out to Shakyuk why someone would be irritated with that type of answer when he was going on his rant about how to respond...

Re: UK vs Canada financial side

You criticised his approach. Well, when one of the first reponses was talking about how it's better in Canada, because my kids are happy! I can see why that would be irksome when he was specifically...

Re: UK vs Canada financial side

Another difference between the UK and Canada, is that you have to do you own taxes in Canada! Everyone who earns an income does. Not the case in the UK. A pain, but you can get an accountant to do...

Re: UK vs Canada financial side

In all fairness, he was very specific with his question. Someone saying their kids are happier in Canada was of little relevance to his enquiries.

Re: UK vs Canada financial side

ISAs and TFSAs are similar. As others have pointed out, the contribution is now only $5,500 for a TFSA. It was as high as $10,000 for one year, but the new Government decided to reduce it. If you...

Re: How do you deal with guilt over living abroad?

Skyping is a great way to keep in contact. I honestly speak to my parents and members of my family more now that I live in Canada, than I did when I was in the UK!

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Not massively disappointed in Canada at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure I am going to stay here for the rest of my life! Sure, I miss some things about the UK. Mostly family and friends. But my...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

A feisty affair.

Can't believe Canada lost to Romania. I thought for most of that match they were going to win comfortably!

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

Not very convincing.

I like how the Ireland and France game, will be the winner doesn't face New Zealand!

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

Not saying your friend made it up, or implied that it didn't happen.

I just didn't see anything of the sort is all I'm saying. And there were plenty of Wallaby fans around me, and none of them...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

Also, why does the press keep saying this is the first time a host nation hasn't progressed passed the pool stage?

In 1991, joint hosts Wales did not make it past the pool stage.

I was at the...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

I was at the game, and saw no such things happening.

Everyone was really quiet and pissed off really. Well except the Aussie fans. They weren't saying much though.

Re: The Rugby Union Thread

No, they will lose to South Africa.

Lets face it, New Zealand will win it. :(

Please, anyone but New Zealand! Yes, even France!

Thanks! We will see how they do against Samoa. Samoa will think they have a decent chance.

I actually see South Africa beating Scotland. Japan beating South Africa has made this group the most...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2015 Poll

Score line flattened Scotland.

Very unfair that this is Scotland's first game, but Japan only had that epic encounter 4 days ago!

Something wrong in the scheduling, and really effecting the...
