Re: UK Drivers Licence in BC

If you are able to contact your previous insurers and get no claims details from them, you should make as much effort to do so as you can. Otherwise you are going to get absolutely hosed. I lived in...

Re: International Experience Canada

That is usually an issue with opening the form on your phone or an iPad, something like that. Have you tried saving it on to a PC (rather than opening from the email). Email to some friends and get...

Smile Re: International Experience Canada

Ok, so how did France manage (in previous years) to process the French applications, the UK applications and probably the Irish applications in a quarter of the time, for the same money? I'm sorry,...

Re: International Experience Canada

We are customers of the IEC though, that's the point. If the amount they charge is too low, why not increase it. Or at least give realistic timescales to people. I waited 5 weeks for a payment...

Re: International Experience Canada

I don't buy that. We are paying £90 each, for a quota of 5350 that's a revenue of just under half a million. More than enough to employ a substantial processing team. They have clearly skimmed...

Re: International Experience Canada

If you have received an LOI in the past week or two, can you post up your time line please. Trying to get an idea of how long the wait is between the passed to CIC email and LOI. Thanks.

Re: International Experience Canada

It doesn't say to submit your application incomplete though does it, which is what you would be doing. They are too busy to be faffing about with incomplete applications, I'd put money on it being...

Re: International Experience Canada

Definitely not worth the risk. Especially considering it could take well over a month for them to get back to you with a rejection.

Re: International Experience Canada

Bear in mind that you'll have to leave then re-enter the country to activate the LOI though. Whether this is flagpolling in the US or otherwise...

Re: International Experience Canada

I have a Hotmail account and did not have any problem receiving my Notification of Receipt. It is taking 3-4 weeks for the payment request to come through at the moment, rather than the quoted 2.

Hi Editha,

I was just wondering if you could elaborate slightly on why you want to move from Edmonton? I only ask because I'm going to be moving there myself in a few months, and I'm obviously...

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

Congrats on the LOI, any chance you could post up your timeline?

Also, for the post above - I had my application signed for in the 9th. Notification of Receipt received on the 27th.

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

You don't pay until payment is requested - at the moment about 2-3 weeks after receiving your 'Notification of Receipt' email.

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

Quite a few people seem to be going with ACE. As I say, I haven't looked in to it in detail yet. The insurance requirements are on the IEC website. The main thing to look out for seems to be that the...

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

I have only had a quick look, but ACE Group and Multitrip seem to be the cheapest insurers. You will want to check the small print to ensure it meets the IEC requirement.

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

I'm not sure. I'm hoping it's from when the package is actually delivered, not officially received. It just seems to take an unbelievable about of time, I can't work it out. It's extremely irritating...

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

I just wanted to check you know the application package being signed for is not the same as official confirmation of receipt? As I said above, this has taken 6 weeks for some people :(

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

People on the Facebook IEC page have quoted times of up to 6 weeks just for them to confirm receipt. Extremely frustrating I know. I want to hand my notice in at work! Grr

The IEC website does say...
