Work outside all winter? To be avoided if possible. Lungs might have a bit of a hard time depending on the exertion levels. Other than that dexterity becomes a problem with your deer skin or other...

I worked for PCL as a special projects superintendent for a year. Until they ran out of work on those projects. They let 500 european workers go two weeks before xmas of 2009 with only 2 wks notice....

Thats news to me. How much could I expect to be paid on an apprenticeship ?
I would be up for that if its enough to support a family of four in rental accommodation and run a car.

The UK construction sector is on its knees. Its got to be better in Alberta. Contacts there tell me everyone is busy so, that is a big improvement on my last experience.

Im glad its working out for you and your family. If my wife was prepared to work we would still be in canada. Just hanging on but we would be there.

I personally find it alot easier to find work...
