Thanks for the info guys. From my reading it seems Alberta does have alot of mining and oil industry there.

My background is primarily contractors QS with experience in fit-out, structural steel...

I was gonna get the IEC 2 year working holiday visa then once over and employed apply for a company sponsored visa. Thats what i advised to do by a BC representitive at a working abroad expo last...

We'd be struggling to get 6 months rent built up prior to going!

Im a Quantity Surveyor so should end up with a good offer all being well. O/H is a GIS Analyst.

Hoping to move to Brisbane but all depends on where we get 2 jobs that suit in the same city

Dearer across the board then it seems. Always knew it was but not to this extent.

As long as the wages are higher there shouldnt be a problem i guess!
