Just adding to tking's reply. Out towards Wacol you are starting to move away from the more expensive inner suburbs. If you are looking for jouses at a reasonable price, suburbs like 'Forest Lake'...

The two locations are like comparing chalk and cheese. It really depends, as mentioned before, what you are looking for, what jobs you are looking at obtaining etc.

I believe work is a bit harder...

For $400 you should be able to find some decent share accomodation in inner Brisbane or your own small apartment. www.realestate.com.au is the main source for real estate and rentals in Australia.

I currently live in Brisbane and can say that you can have a pretty good life on $85+K also if you look in the right place, you can easily commute to Brisbane under 30mins via the new busways...
