As an update the SS card showing my correct name arrived in the mail on the 25th of February. So only waiting on the 10 year GC now...

They are different types of employment visas. Examples are H1-B, L1, L2, E2, etc


If you were a child when he naturalized, then yes, otherwise no. Considering you are married I doubt it.

I know that some people manage to live without an SSN, my question is how? Do you not open a bank account? File taxes? Drive?

Or do they find a way to get an SSN without any immigration documents?

I was wondering the exact same thing. From what I've read life in the US seems to hinge on the SSN for credit checks, getting a drivers licence, renting a property, etc so how do you manage?

Do you honestly want to check your work e-mail and take work calls on your vacation? I usually forget e-mail exists and shut my phone off for the entire duration of my vacations...

For the CR-1 visa:
The US Citizen (your wife) would file and I-130 petition and wait for it to be approved. Once it is approved you will be invited by the US embassy in London to apply for a CR-1...

That is the most idiotic thing I've seen this year (granted we are only 2 days into the year).

When I last renewed my Indian passport they clipped the old passport and stamped "CANCELLED" all over...
