Re: Mentalist's questions about ILR application

Many thanks DV. Our house is in my sole name also but they didn't ask for a specific letter giving residential permission. As the Council Tax and Utility bills are in joint names, hopefully that will...

Re: Mentalist's questions about ILR application

So my wife will be taking our docs to the Biometrics appt tomorrow. According to the ILR Facebook Group, many folk have been asked to produce a Consent Form, presumably for the financial aspect. We...

Re: Mentalist's questions about ILR application

So we copied all 96 pages of my wife's current and past passports to verify her travel history (or lack thereof) as suggested by BiP. They also need my passport to verify my UK settled status....

Re: Mentalist's questions about ILR application

So you scanned every single page of both passports? Would that be necessary even if no overseas trips were made in the last five years?

Re: Mentalist's questions about ILR application

Does anybody think that 92 pages of documents to be up-loaded is rather tedious. That only includes the identity and UK visa pages of my wife's passports. Over 50 pages comprise six months of...

Re: Spouse visa - bank statements

Have booked a Biometrics Appt with the scanning/downloading option for next month. Does it matter that bank statements are on both sides of a page or should I photocopy them on to one-sided paper?...

Mentalist's questions about ILR application

Printed out her application form and list of required docs. Will struggle finding six letters addressed jointly. Also, I can see nothing about passport sized photos of applicant or spouse, which are...

Mentalist's questions about ILR application

My wife's BRP expires mid-May 21 and she passed her UK Life Test today. Am I correct in thinking that, so long as the application is paid for and submitted on-line before her BRP expiry date, it...

Re: FLR Checklist and Questions

One early question they ask in application is whether it's possible to relocate outside the UK. Well obviously it's technically possible, subject to British husband getting overseas residency...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

Been watching ILR stuff on You Tube and one guy says that the requested docs include a letter from Home Office to verify proof of immigration status. This would have accompanied the BRP but sadly we...

Re: When do I pay the NHS surcharge for ILR?

But don't they require an actual passport rather than a scanned copy? Sorry I have just seen BiP's reply saying that you need to bring original passport to the biometric appointment instead.

Re: £62,500 savings help for spouse visa

Does an ISA account count as being cash? Surely most ISA's are in stocks & shares. Just curious as we have over £50K in an ISA but were not intending to include that when calculating the £62.5K...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

Finally some good news, BiP, thanks. The wife is bust studying for her Life Test. Typical question. When did the Vikings raid Britain? Was it 600AD, 789AD, 790AD or 800AD? I bet even Boris Johnson...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

We are putting our ILR/FLR application on hold until Her Indoors takes her UK Life test on 19th. As for the cash savings issue, it was simply that it states on the on-line form that you need an...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

Just to say we have overcome the initial glitch and have booked a UK Life Test for Mon 19th April. Presumably, if she fails, we can still take the FLR route until next time.

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

Thanks for the helpful input everyone but our application appears to be jinxed. Tried to log in to UK Gov website to book a Life Test and it says my e-mail and password don't match. Tried going back...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

But she only has a few weeks before her current visa expires and cannot study. Maybe she can take the Life Test the next time around. As for the questions, many British citizens cannot answer all of...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

We asked on here about English Language tests and were told that B1 was suitable for our extended visa. We assumed that the cultural test was for citizenship only. Quite frankly I doubt that my wife...

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

So how do we apply for another FLR given that we lack the annual income required for ILR?

Re: Extend Spouse visa after 5 years (NOT ILR)

Started completing on-line application to extend my wife's visa from 5yrs and they ask for Life in the UK Test as well as a B1 Eng Lang test. We thought the Life in the UK Test was only for UK...

Re: FLR Checklist and Questions

That particular link makes reference to a BRP appointment. We didn't attend a physical appointment when extending our FLR in 2018 so is this a new thing or do they simply mean the biometrics taken at...
