Hi, when my wife applied for a Spouse visa (I'm Australian) back in I believe 2012, it took 9 months for the email to arrive that said it'd been granted.

when I got my kids Oz passports done, I just took them to a passport photo booth.
I was very careful to read the guidelines and the photos were accepted first time.

It took a lot of fussing about...

Yes there's been loads of rain.. wow. At least the rain is warm! As opposed to cold in the UK.

I haven't got a bike yet, as we live in Taringa everything is within walking distance.
Still, Bikes...

Hi all again, sorry about the thread necro, but we've been living in Brisbane 6 months now, loving it!

I'm still working in Toowong in Toowong Tower working in an IT dept and living in Taringa ....

If you live in Toowong and work in the CBD, you could easily cycle into work.
There's a very nice wide cycle path/footpath along the banks of the river.

It'd only take 20-30 minutes to cycle in....

We have gone to the beach with no problems. IT's not THAT far to a beach and you don't even need to drive there, the public transport is great here.

I recently (about 2 months ago) moved to Brisbane from the UK with my wife and 2 young kids and work in Toowong.
I settled on living in Taringa, which is fairly pricey, but seeing as I can walk to...

Hi all, thanks again for your help.
We are now all in Brisbane and I'm working in Toowong.
We settled on a house in Taringa, walking distance from toowong (or a 1 stopp train if I'm feeling lazy).

Maybe 300PW is a low estimate, I keep think in GBP terms rather than AUD, so I would be willing to go a bit above 300 AUD PW.

ok, would only want to rent a 3 bed house/apartment, not actually sharing.
I don't need to live in a posh area, just a nice area with decent schools.

So South or West is cheaper and nice too? ...

Initially public transport, but defo getting a car pretty soon.
I would like to be able to cycle to work if possible tho, as I prefer to cycle than drive, but I have a full license etc...Don't...

I don't and as you say, it's on the back on my mother's citizenship document.
However I renewed my Australian passport a few months ago and the Australian high commission in London...

Do you know how long it will take to get a permanent spouse visa to Australia? is it also 6 months like stated earlier?

It sounds like most likely they will all lose their Danish citizenship....

No she's never been to Australia and doesn't have a Visa yet.
I can just apply for a PSouse Visa and I don;t expect any problems with it as we have plenty of proof of being togethr, kids, married...

Yes that's possible (after some years) but that's not a real concern, we're settling in Australia and not going back to Denmark to live ever.
