Re: Curiosity regarding implied status

So if the officer is processing a visitor extension application that was made for August 1st, but they don't get around to processing it until October, would the officer write "must leave canada by...

Re: How to apply for business visitor visa

You're correct, but I should clarify: I haven't been contracted by any Canadian companies. But I have contracted Canadian companies and freelancers to work for my business. If I had been contracted...

Re: How to apply for business visitor visa

Thanks. I don't think I've really expressed my situation as well as I should. I haven't really been 'warned' per se. (I never used that term.) The officer, back in December, just said all I needed to...

Re: How to apply for business visitor visa

If possible, I'd like to apply to a new status, for whatever is most appropriate, so that I can oversee completion of a project here before I return to the UK.
The below example from the manual is...

Re: How to apply for business visitor visa

Thanks for the info. I've been careful to read the CIC manual and make sure I'm not engaging in any "work" as per their definition. As my business operates 100% in the UK, and I am not being employed...

Re: ESTA and flag polling

That's really helpful information actually. I'm soon to do that and probably would've done the same!

Re: Should I be honest with US immigration about flag polling?

I agree, I don't want to mislead anyone as that always leads to trouble!

So it should be okay for me to simply state I'm visiting the US for a day then on the way back I'll be applying for a work...

Re: Should I be honest with US immigration about flag polling?

I was considering this (as a day out to Niagara would be good too), however I'm worried that elaborating only after being asked about my Canadian status, and not providing that information up front...

Re: Setting up a company in Ontario

So you have a company in the UK already? Do either of you have residency in Canada currently?

I believe you have two options. If you wish to open a new company in Canada, you need at least one of...

Re: ESTA and flag polling

Are there any flags at border crossings? When I get into the US I want to circle their flag pole before returning to the border.

Should I be honest with US immigration about flag polling?

From what I've read around here (some of the info might be outdated), some people say to just be upfront about flag polling, however some posts say you should not mention the immigration application...

Re: Intra-Company Transfer for OWN NEW BUSINESS IN CANADA (self Employed)

I know this is a few months old but curious if you have any update on your progress for this.

In my own research, as I'm looking at doing the same, if you open a branch of the parent company you...

Re: ESTA and flag polling

I thought you didn't need an ESTA to flagpole. You only need one if traveling in an airplane or ship. :)

Re: Cross US border for 2 days while on implied status

I think if I take this with me and show it to border control it significantly increases my chances of being let back in,...

Re: Cross US border for 2 days while on implied status

Thanks for the reply PMM, how short is 'reaaaaaaaaaaaaally' short? :p

I should have the visitor extension waiting for when I returned, or a few days after.

If not, that leaves me a couple of further questions about the possible options...

Re: Fish and Chip Shop in Toronto
