called up the call center. as per the agent the sponsorship eligibility part of the application has been approved and a letter with the file number mailed to me !

Don't bet on it ! When my PR application was in progress, they called my employer and identified themselves as CIC.

I landed without any funds myself. I showed the letter from my employer with the terms and conditions of employment, pay slips and bank statements. Hope this helps.

When I apply for my citizenship if I needed to produce phone, credit card, hydro bills etc to prove that I was residing in Canada, would printouts of eBills be considered valid ?

I entered Canada by land twice from Detroit without landing to look for an apartment in Windsor. I used my visitors visa and didnt bring my COPR and didnt have any problems. Hope this helps!

since u cant land in Quebec, you cant tell them that is your address. the visa official may not allow you to put in a friends address. if you will plan to move into Canada within 6 months of landing...

Don't take e-client too seriously and increase your stress levels. if i remember correctly it showed "in progress" a couple of days AFTER i landed !
