But it was not wrong because of something we had done.

And we tried from the moment we noticed it to have it corrected.

Make sure address is correct!

We never did receive the welcome packet and green card because of this.

Washington, DC (Dulles) but my husband said there were only 3 other people. Not sure if that makes a difference as you say.

Just an update, it has now been 9 weeks and 2 days and my husband has yet to receive any correspondence..ie welcome letter .. green card.
We were trying to wait it out in hopes that it would show...

What number did you use to ring them. I would rather call them to sort this out than make an appt as that would take a whole day to and 6 hours of driving at least.

Oh wow. We went to the SSA yesterday and the guard type person or gate keeper if you may tried to say that you cant apply for SSN on Visa application?? whatever... I tried to explain that indeed you...

I am aware that we can go to SSA to get SSN and passport stamp is good as green card, but eventually he needs to have the actual green card.
so i was wondering who to contact.

ok, thanks.
Originally when he received the visa brown packet it had a summary sheet on the front which had the U.S. address we would be moving to and the house number was totally wrong... like...

Update:
My husband pointed out the incorrect address to POE officials and he said they looked in his brown envelope documents and said that it was correct on those documents and that it should be...

Congrats! My husband had his on Tues (Aug 2) and the visa came in the mail yesterday (Aug 4) , so you might have that visa sooner than you thinK ;) Feels so good to be done though.. doesn't it!

Why do you think we are over the Atlantic? The visa packet came in the mail today. The data summary sheet is attached to the outside of the big envelope. :)

Hi,

Not sure if this is a problem. My husband noticed on his immigrant visa packet that they have the house number incorrect on this immigrant visa summary that is attached to the big envelope....
