meauxna, you are right and I think I may have misunderstood something along the way. In the US you must leave and arrive with an American passport if you are an American citizen or a dual citizen....

Give yourself lots of time to get quotes and interview movers, my belongings arrived safe, but they duplicated so many numbers on my boxes that it took 4 hours to sort out all the paperwork and match...

On your UK passport it shows you where born in the UK and that you are a UK citizen, on the American passport it will show you as an American citizen, but born in the UK. Some airlines won't ask for...

Get quotes and not just over the phone. Have a representative come out to your house and have them give you a quote in writing.
I used Guardian which is now Hercules I think, they gave me a quote...
