Re: chance to move to Calgary, Canada. What is life like there?

Sorry, I assumed it was implied. My mistake.

With great difficulty. Back then, we had a horrible rental apartment, never went out, and had lots of debt. Also, 30k/yr went a lot further in...

Re: chance to move to Calgary, Canada. What is life like there?

Living here that long, you will have noticed the increase in luxury cars being driven in Calgary now versus 10 years ago, and the exponential increase in seriously nice homes. Lots of people here at...

Re: Not working out.

Calgary is not for everybody.. but maybe stay another 6 months just to be sure?

Moving here is a big investment, you might as well get your money's worth.

If you're still not happy after 1...

Re: Having problems with Calgary, would I be better elsewhere?

What helps me, is knowing that it's not forever.

I've now spent a sizable chunk of my life in Calgary, and have really tried to like the place, I still don't, but it's much more tolerable than...

Re: chance to move to Calgary, Canada. What is life like there?

People do like to spend their money in Calgary, that's for sure!

Re: chance to move to Calgary, Canada. What is life like there?

Who said I bought a house 10 years ago? I wish I was in a position back then, I'd be loaded by now!

Re: chance to move to Calgary, Canada. What is life like there?

I've been living in Calgary for ~10 years. I had to start at the bottom here, but I bounced back, and I'm now at the point where our family income is now at around $155,000 per year.

Now I put...

Re: Returning to the UK

Very true. There are only so many times you can visit the zoo, or the other limited attractions. Nightlife & dining out is lacking compared to British cities.

Travel out of Calgary is very...
