It seems fairly straight forward to me.

You will obviously have to let them know you intend on remaining in Canada after IEC expires. And on that basis you can re-enter as a Visitor only.

That's not a problem Ian. I left my job in November 2010 to go on a holiday, applied for IEC in Feb (while i was on JobSeekers). I got my LOI a couple of days ago

..as far as i'm aware you need either a return flight/enough to buy a return flight. and obviously insurance & letter of introduction.
