Re: Which NYC suburb is akin to Hammersmith, London?

Bummer. What's NYC missing? I live in Chiswick - safe, affordable, close to the park, and easy access to district/piccadilly line straight to city. Finding it hard to find somewhere in NY that fits...

Which NYC suburb is akin to Hammersmith, London?

Hi,

Can someone advice which area in NYC is akin to Hammersmith/Chiswick/Richmond area in west London? - Safe, residential, easy/close commute to city, modern, and not too expensive. Thanks!

Switching to right hand drive

I rarely drive in the UK, and I'm bad with sticks, but I think this would be a necessity when I move to US. I'm kinda freaked out by the thought of having to switch from left hand drive to right hand...

How did this influx happen given the limited work visas?

Surely there must be differences in the work culture for IT people working in Silicon Valley vs. Wall Street? No? Another American...

Re: Flat with built-in washer/dryer

Thank you Kaffy. I usually search in nytimes and craiglist, although the latter is filled with junk postings (under-priced, over-sized, too good to be true deals), just like gumtree. Any...

Flat with built-in washer/dryer

Hello! I'm moving from London to New York city in spring, and I'm having a hard time finding for an average 1br flat (to rent) with a built-in washer and dryer. I know it's the norm to use shared...
