I'm not entirely sure. I know that we emigrated in 1963 and dad worked in Aus and then went to PNG to work in the Police Force. He stayed working in PNG which was then under Aus rule until 1983...

Thanks for that. Presumably wives will turn up without an abaya (which would be the foreigner with the long sleeves and trousers) and have to get one? or do you advocate getting an abaya in the UK...
