I don't understand why they would have not only rejected but completely deleted my last application for a SSN if the EAD is irrelevant then?! Apparently the Dept of Homeland Security couldn't verify...

Turns out I should have applied for my EAD before my SSN. Still waiting for the adjudication of my EAD app. but hoping it will come through soon. THEN I can apply for my SSN. ...

I am by no means an expert on this but it is my understanding that you can take up to a 5 year break from NI contributions and can claim benefits provided you are resident of the UK and don't state...
