Re: Disruption of continuity of residence for citizenship

Thanks for your speedy reply! :)

I'm not sure what software you are referring to or exactly what you mean. Please clarify.

So you're saying it's possible to stay outside the US for...

Disruption of continuity of residence for citizenship

I am a GCH married to a USC for the past 9 years. I want to apply for my US citizenship.

I have been a GCH for more than 3 years and seem to qualify for citizenship except for the fact that we...

Re: Question About US Mortgage...

I've been a US resident for about 4 years. I have financial records going back that far but i've only really started earning significant amounts in the past 6-12 months. Before that things were a bit...

Re: Question About US Mortgage...

Okay.... I think i'm a bit clearer now. What I was thinking doesn't actually make any sense since securing a mortgage on 1/2 a property is pretty useless.

I would like to buy a house around...

Question About US Mortgage...

I am wondering if it is possible to get a mortgage in the US secured on 50% of the property value?

So say a house is for sale for $120,000 and I have $60,000 as a down payment, can the mortgage...

Re: Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

Re: Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

Thanks... I missed the bit about being for a permit.

I've selected several states based on other factors and I just want to see which ones (if any) don't require me to take a driving test.

Re: Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

I have a hard time taking tests and not just driving tests. Driving isn't the problem, it's the actual process of being tested which causes me to have panic attacks.

I didn't really want to get...

Re: Revisiting UK after long time away

So a single visit outside the US for 6 months or more would break it. But a visit for 5 months and then another visit of two weeks a month later wouldn't break it. Right?

I have a better idea... perhaps I should stay in the UK and stop asking legitimate questions on forums where people have nothing better to do than be...

Re: Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

So if I move to Kentucky and become a permanent resident I...

Re: Revisiting UK after long time away

So why don't they say 180 days? Why say 6 months?

Re: Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

Thanks for your comments but I already realised this. I have my reasons for not wanting to take a driving test which i'm not going to share here.

Am I going to move to a state purely so I don't...

Re: Revisiting UK after long time away

How do they count 6 months? If I left the US on May 2nd for example. Are they counting 180 days, or Oct 1st, or Oct 2nd?

Which States Waive Driving Test For UK Licence Holders

I am wondering which states will waive the driving test for holders of a UK driving licence?

I'm not talking about the written/computer or vision tests. Just the actual driving part.

So far it...

Which State Would You Live In Given The Choice?

If you had your choice of all the states in America which one would you choose and why?

If you had no commitments or constraints where in the US would you live?

Re: Re-entry with Green Card after long stay in UK

Okay, thanks for the replies.

One last question which may seem rather dumb....

When I re-enter the US do they have a seperate desk for GC holders? Or do I just queue with the regular visitors?

Re: Re-entry with Green Card after long stay in UK

My wife entered as a tourist and can only stay legally for six months.

It was never our intent to stay permanently and so we haven't applied for a visa or resident status for her.
