Re: Employment problems - Is it really that bad?

It is quite the situation, and I'm at the shit end of the stick. It'll make 9 months that I've been here and I'm just not able to secure an interview (261312 Developer Programmer). Recruiters say,...

Re: Moving to Aus with a company transfer

Ya, that sounds like a good deal. Speaking to a recruiter, his honest advice is that even with a PR, it is recommended not to quit your job and come over, as the market in Australia at the moment is...

Re: Moving to Aus with a company transfer

I would have to agree. SAP work since last September has fallen flat. To make matters worse, that's the month I arrived in Melb and am still looking for work. Aussie employers are also very finnicky...

Re: What is the actual time requirement to retain PR (while out of Australia)

Yes, from what I can gather, during your PR visa tenure (of usually 5 yrs), you can travel in and out freely (says so on your visa as well). It's only after the expiry of that 5yrs and if you're not...

Re: Urgent Help-Agent threatening to withdraw EOI

I don't understand-is he refusing to lodge the same even with you paying him or not? The part about whether you have paid him after your sponsorship has gotten through is still not clear. There is a...

Re: Requesting opinions about video resume's

Also, as a potential employer, I wouldn't bother with video resumes unless the profession involved it. Any person who tries to make an extra impression over the actual presentation of his work is not...

Re: Bilingual people are smarter

<start boring discovery channel documentary>

Yup, for early Alzheimer's patients they ask them to learn a new language to keep their brain active. And this study is probably doesn't point out that...

Re: ACS didn't mentioned my PIM Group

I don't think they do anymore. It's not relevant anyway as all you need is a positive assessment going forward. DIAC is not interested in what group you fall under.

Re: Confusing mail from CO

You either have a brilliant sense of humour or this is one of the most ironic replies I've read.

Woke up to nice mail from my CO. Visa granted today, have until November to enter.

Pretty fast processing actually (for my case, at least).

So, this weekend, have a beer on me, or wine if...

Re: Australian Computer Society ACS - Skill Assessment - Supporting Docs

Gaps are not a problem provided they're not included in the number of years of experience you wish to show (which I assume you've done). A brief mention of the gaps will do no harm. Ultimately, ACS...

Re: Eligibility for subclass 261313 Software Engineer ????

Check the guidelines in this ACS webpage

I think they require a minimum of two years experience if your work is highly related...
