I do miss it very much for food and clothes, and Next and other places.... but you make do. Lots of other things to make up for it! :)

I can agree with NBKH, FF is very suburban - I am not one for living in the bush!

One thing to consider, as you have children, is schools. Depending on whether you plan to go public or private......

I would recommend Singapore Airlines every time with children. We have done the UK-Aus with a 15 month old and Aus-UK-Aus with a almost 5 year old and both times Singapore were fantastic.

We emigrated to Sydney 4 years ago and ended up on the northern beaches. Started in Manly and now in Frenchs Forest and we love it. We only have the one child (5 yr old now) but schools,...
