Mine took around 5 months to come through. It's due to a massive backlog. If you require it urgently and have the requirement to travel (i.e. you have plane tickets), you can usually get it processed...

I landed on 16th December 2009, my PR card arrived in mid-May. They have a massive backlog, which is affecting new arrivals too.

It took nearly 4 months to get my PR card. It was supposed to only take 4-6 weeks.

I'm married to a French-Canadian. It took just under two months to get my permanent residence application processed, then 3-4 weeks to issue the visa. I worried about mine, but I shouldn't have.

The wife and I brought over our cat. All we needed was an export certificate from Defra, have our cats vaccinations up to date and to have a rabies vaccination and microchiped. Booked on the flight...

Hi there, I moved to Montreal from the UK back in December with my French-Canadian wife (have been married for two and a half years). I'm living east of downtown, so it's pretty much French speaking....
