Re: USA Driving Licence

So, under your scenario, the OP would be able to get a license good for 90 days on each visit, less, of course, the time spent making the application and taking the test. And would have to go through...

Re: USA Driving Licence

There is no US driver’s license; the requirements are state specific. On the Florida DMV site it indicates that a social security number and US passport or birth certificate are prerequisites to be...

Re: Offer of a move UK to US

If there was a commute into NYC, that might make sense, but the job is apparently in Greenwich/Stamford, so using the train doesn't seem feasible -- the working partner would have to be driven to...

Re: Offer of a move UK to US

And please note that you are going to need two cars in CT -- no bus service as we know it in the UK -- so another item for the budget!

Re: Moving Back to US - Would you do it now?

Interesting -- I hear about friends in the UK waiting months for appointments (in fact it has made my OH swear he would never live there!), but here in CT I get instant attention for medical needs....

Re: Moving Back to US - Would you do it now?

I hold the same fears that you describe in your final paragraph. And I don’t think the fear of the orange idiot trying to hold onto power by any means possible is far fetched at all. And his...

Re: Moving Back to US - Would you do it now?

Besides the orange idiot and his proclamations that there is no such thing as global warming, and his rollbacks on environmental protections, there is RFK Jr. decimating the public health sector with...

Re: Moving Back to US - Would you do it now?

If you are following the news, why on earth would you want to subject yourself to the current insanity?

Re: UK Engineer looking to relocate to the US?

It's a large country. Is there any specific area that you are interested in moving to? TBH, it's better if you are willing to go anywhere there's a suitable job as opposed to setting your sights on a...

Re: Marry then I-130 or I-129 and Marry

Again, it sounds as if the OP's fiancée has been either on sabbatical or working remotely and now needs to get back to her office by a certain time-- not a situation that falls into an "exceptional...

Re: Marry then I-130 or I-129 and Marry

We live in strange times, so I would say that this gambit might have more chance of success if the couple had been married for some time. However genuine a very recent marriage, at a time when...

As soon as it was learned the Brown shooter was Portuguese, you knew Trump would be onto it. The casualty? The DV lottery program.

Why don't you just charge the US purchases to your UK credit card? If you get an Amazon card for the UK, you can use it on the US site. I do it vice versa, using my US card for purchases on the UK...

Re: Moving to Indianapolis or Dallas

Re: Moving to Indianapolis or Dallas

Have you ever been to either city? Indianapolis is not the kind of place to move to without checking out what you are signing up for. Are you bringing family? If so, be aware that older children...
