Re: Trying to move to the USA, advice welcomed!

Yes, you can take your pets with you. We took two dogs and a cat with no problems. You will need to start on rabies shots for them and make sure they're certified. Shipping pets can be done yourself...

Re: Time between I-130 and DS230/2001 & I-864

As I view it, you would still be two separate households and as such the co-sponsorship would be for three as the USC doesn't need sponsoring.

Re: Time between I-130 and DS230/2001 & I-864

From my own understanding, he needs to make 125% of the poverty level for a household of two. Just because you're sharing an address with his parents, it doesn't mean you have to live as one...

Re: HEADS UP -- bye-bye Temp 551 stamp

I assume that green card production lag times vary, as I recieved mine after two weeks (even though I wasn't here) although I have an MRIV in my passport so it wouldn't be such an issue for me. As...

Re: London Interview/Medicals

I went to my GP who didn't have a clue as to which shots I'd had (so much for medical records) so I got her to give me the MMR, which cost about £25 (I know I missed that one at school). She wasn't...

Re: I-864....what happens now?

I know it's not easy, but it's worth it in the end. The waiting seems to take forever, but it does make your relationship stronger. In a few years, you'll be able to look back and smile. Take comfort...

Hi Ellie,

Only one welcome letter? I got several. ;)
How did you do with the SSN? I waited for mine but it didn't come so I went and asked; the embassy didn't put in the application so I had to...

Re: When I get there I want to leave!

No, this was as a reply to the OP's post. I came over for just the weekend a few weeks ago and validated the stamp in my passport. A few people were asking if there were any problems doing such a...

Re: When I get there I want to leave!

Well, here I am back again! I flew in to Phoenix yesterday. Going through the POE as a first time returnee, I wasn't sure what to expect. The POE officer looked at the stamp and I told him it was my...

Re: Should I declare my belongings to Customs on Entry

I can second that. I came in through Phoenix last night. I didn't know what to put on the form as by the letter, you're supposed to delclare eveything down to your socks (eveything you've purchased...

Re: How long can I wait between getting approval for I-130 and applying

I can't remember offhand what the time constraint is for completing the application, but the visa will be valid for 6 months so chosing you departure timing is quite easy. You can certainly slow your...

Re: DCF - Tax Requirements

I can't answer #1 but I know you will need to submit an I-864 affadavit of support for DCF. The USC will also have to provide tax doccuments for at least the last 3 years.

Re: DCF London questions

1 - Yes, your husband will need a sponsor. In my case, my father-in-law sponsored me and declared a household size of three and nothing was mentioned about that, so I would think you should be fine....

Re: ****Denied K1 Visa today****....Appeal Question..(WAIVER)

Crimes committed as a minor (under 18 years of age) should be declared but should not effect the visa application. I wouldn't think he will have any problems.

Good luck with the interview.

Re: I need info on.....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't the I-864 a legal contract signed by the sponsor to support the recipient for at least 10 years? I don't think she can refuse to support you. As I...

Re: X-rays results

I did DCF and was advised that although not normally required, X-rays may be requested at POE. I took mine but they weren't asked for (as expected).

I don't think I've ever seen a specific time limit anywhere, but as with most processing departments, if you delay, your paperwork will work it's way to the bottom of the pile. When you want to...
