Re: Who'd run a bar?

I've just found out more about it. It does open all evening as well but even more expense. You have to pay the Ayuntamiento for the privilege! At first they were asking 1,500 but they've dropped it...

Re: How to bring our pool into use - off grid

Have you thought about using salt? I'm not an expert but I think you might find advice from the homesteading types. Maybe on youtube.

Who'd run a bar?

Terribly sad to see in my Spanish village that nobody has taken up the bar concession in the local municipal pool. I guess it's the problems of:- Paying the Autonomo...Buying stock, working 8 hours a...

Re: Non Expat Area in Andalusian Coast

I don't think it's anything to do with the 'class' of the people who live there. It's a ghetto mentality. I live in an inland village they are working class or unemployed with just
some with a more...

Re: Thinking of a move to Spain any advice please

Hi Apple.
Sounds like you just need an adventure. Why not give yourself half of your savings and see how long you can live off that then go home and plan your new life? Wherever that may turn out to...

Re: Is it possible to live in rural Spain on a limited income? .

I disagree with this. The prices aren't the same and the mode of living just isn't the same. In a rural village rather than an expat one neighbours are always popping round with their excess. If you...

Re: Do you keep your passport when applying for a new one?

Wow I didn't know that! When I went to Italy in Feb there were just 6 months on it! I hope I don't have problems going to Denmark next week!

Do you keep your passport when applying for a new one?

Just that really. My passport runs out at the end of August. But I travel a lot. Fitting in applying for a new one is tight. With the new rules and online applications can I apply now and keep the...

Brexit and hospital waiting lists

Here's a thing which has just occurred to me. If you were a health authority in Europe, trying to cope with a waiting list which had your own citizens and British Expats on it... where would you now...

Re: The truth about UK pensions in Spain please

Thanks Mitzy. I did have a report sent to me a few years ago too. Just wanted to check that nothing had changed with all these comments about governments pulling out of treaties etc.

The truth about UK pensions in Spain please

A new member in his thread about living in Spain recently stated "(Healthcare, pensions, etc are issues that need consideration too as all those UK years built up for statutory pension go out of the...

Re: Advice Needed Please! :)

No, sorry, once again I have to come to his defence. Even though he's a bit blunt. What he's trying to say but people aren't listening, and what official figures never do tell you is that the real...

Re: Autonomo

Hi. According to my Spanish friend who has been Autonomo for many years it's simply not worth paying the extra for unemployment cover as the total you might receive should you become unemployed is no...

Re: Advice Needed Please! :)

Even though this post is somewhat blunt I have to agree that the figures don't show the reality. It's true that they don't take account of those who work in the black and they are a huge proportion...

Re: Advice Needed Please! :)

I agree with all the negative comments BUT I have heard of a company who hire English carers for the elderly. You may even be able to get a private person to take you on as a couple. Since you are...

Actually this is quite useful! It gives me an idea of the branches of education and how to write some kind of curriculum/certificate so as not to claim something I can't offer. Nor to do my own...

Qualifications in specialist subjects.

Hi. On the off-chance someone knows the answer to this tricky question:-

I'm an artist in polymer clay and have been teaching for many years. The subject is so specialist you could call it 'mine'...
