I'm trying to fill out this 1040NR and I'm stuck on the Schedule A where it states Local Income Tax?

What taxes are these exactly? I've gone through the form and cannot see where I could enter...

I was able to get a Secured Credit card with Wells Fargo ($1500) after being here for 2 months, though they fleeced me on the deposit account for a monthly fee!, still negoiating that one.

I went with a secured credit card with Wells Fargo.. Some things to watch out for..

They placed the secured funds in a "Way 2 Go" savings account, which attracts a $5 monthly fee if you don't...

Yeah the $500 deposit is horrible, I refused to pay $500, so still use my company phone until my credit becomes better.

My favourite beer is Alaskan Amber and I was upset when the local Irish Bar took it off the pumps :-( Though the ESB replacement was nice to drink, I still miss the Amber.

Well life in the tax world is pretty simple for me as I am single with no dependents..

Looking at a prepared 1040 as if I was a resident using a free e-file company there were only a dozen entries...

For 2009 that suits me fine. However, for 2010 I will file as a resident and have recently been informed that I file using 1040-EZ instead of the 1040-NR.

As I earned my UK income as a non-resident I won't be taxed on it, I only became a resident last month as I passed the presence test. The only income they may be interested in is my UK rental income...

What I was surprised to see when I received my final quote (a few days before collection) and something they failed to mention was that in addition to the 71cuft there is a 461lb weight allowance!...

Well I booked up a month in the end and hopefully I can find somewhere quickly which suits me better. FWIW the company office is just around the corner so I can walk and save on car hire costs :-)
