We submitted one joint statement for my fiance's de facto application and had the visa within a couple of weeks, they didn't seem to care that we didn't do one each.

Yes, it was completely front-loaded. We tried to send off all our documentation so it would get to the AHC around the same time the doctor thought the medicals would arrive there.

We submitted my fiance's application to Ottawa towards the end of August and the visa was granted September 5. This was for common-law - we had no hassles at all.

Hi

My fiance and I just did the one statement for the de facto visa and both signed it. He got his visa with no problems and quite quickly (19 days).

My understanding is you only need the finger prints for the Canadian police certificate IF you have a prior record. Otherwise I think they just do a check of the national database against name and...
